What is THCa Flower? THCa flower refers to cannabis buds marketed as hemp. These buds are intended for smoking or vaping. They contain high concentrations of tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCa) and low concentrations of D9. Specifically, their D9 levels do not exceed 0.3% by dry weight.

Is THCA legal?
THCA’s legality is a thorny subject. Even though THCA itself is not psychoactive, it is still considered part of the cannabis plant and will convert to THC if consistently exposed to heat. It can also degrade to the semi-intoxicating CBN, also considered a cannabis-derived substance. Some US outlets have begun selling THCA products over the counter, no medical card required, but this ultimately depends on local and state laws, and shouldn’t be taken as a guarantee.
Here in Texas/ City Of Conroe we are still fully able to sale and carry THCa flower as long as COA show Dry weight THC levels are below the 0.3% THC.
Even though THCA isn’t listed as a scheduled substance, possession of an illegal amount of THCA-rich products, such as weed or concentrates, is still subject to local and federal laws. So, if you’re caught with a pound of weed, arresting officers will not take into account that raw cannabis isn’t inherently intoxicating.
Does THCA make you high?
No, THCA in and of itself is a non-intoxicating compound. It doesn’t bind itself directly to CB1 receptors in the central nervous system like Delta-9 THC does and therefore cannot make the user feel high.
However, this is only true if THCA is ingested in its raw state. If you decarboxylate it (or smoke it), the THCA will transform into Delta-9 THC and that in-turn will make you intoxicated provided that the THCA percentage is high enough.
Where can I find THCA?
Few products have utilized the many benefits of THCA until recently, but many brands now make THCA-centric products for ingestion and topical use.
While both medical marijuana and recreational dispensaries can legally carry THCA-based or infused products, you will more likely find them in a store with more of a medicinal focus. And keep in mind, you won’t combust these.

Do drug tests detect THCA?
Will THCA show up in a drug test? A variety of drug tests will use THCA as a target analyte for marijuana testing. Due to that, THCA has the potential to turn a drug test positive. If you are planning on getting tested, you should avoid consuming products that contain THCA.
